This engine ran on the Northwestern Pacific's (a Southern Pacific subsidiary) Redwood passenger train. The model has been customer painted and detailed. It features steam generator details, wire grab irons and functional Ash Can / MARS lights. An ESU LokSound Select Micro (4th Generation ESU) DCC & Sound decoder has been installed in the model as well.

A sugar cube style speaker in a 3D printed enclosure has been installed in the model and it sounds great. The model started out as a stock Atlas undecorated DC SD9. The frame and interior of the shell have been modified to fit the DCC decoder and speaker. Please note the rear number board decals are missing. The front number boards are numbered for train #3, The Redwood.

Also please note, this model requires CLEAN track to run well - it can be finicky. It could use a capacitor and there is space for a small surface mount Tantalum capacitor under the shell.
